Sprouted multigrain porridge, two ways

A cup of sprouted multigrain porridge

Our sprouted multigrain mix cooks into a smooth porridge in about seven minutes. Have it sweet with milk and jaggery or dates powder, or savoury with buttermilk.

Time: 10 minutes · Serves: 1

You need

  • 2 tbsp (20 g) Sproutix Sprouted Multigrain Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • Sweet: ½ cup milk and jaggery or Orgville Dates Powder to taste
  • Savoury: ½ cup buttermilk, a pinch of salt, chopped shallots and coriander

Method

  1. Whisk the mix into the cold water until there are no lumps.
  2. Cook on a low flame for 5–7 minutes, stirring all the time, until it thickens and turns glossy.
  3. Sweet: take it off the heat, stir in the milk and sweeten to taste.
  4. Savoury: let it cool a little, then stir in buttermilk, salt, shallots and coriander.

Tip

Make it thinner for a drink or thicker for a spoonable bowl: adjust the water, not the cooking time.
